Rights, consent & licensing

Legally safe to train a commercial model on.

The enterprise procurement gate isn't volume — it's whether you can lawfully train on the data. As an EU operator capturing identifiable humans, we build the consent and licensing machinery as a first-class deliverable. GDPR is our wedge, not our burden.

Licensing options

Single-buyer commercial license

Default. You may train and ship commercial model weights on the data. The base grant on every tier.

Exclusivity (non-resale)

Available on Scale and Custom tiers — we don't resell the capture to anyone else.

IP assignment

Full ownership transfer negotiated on Custom / Exclusive engagements.

Consent, compliance & data handling

The questions enterprise legal asks before signing — answered up front. Templates and terms are shared for review during scoping.

Per-contributor consent

Every filmed contributor consents on the record for commercial model training, with a documented model release linked to each episode (consent_id).

Special-category precision

Faces / identifiable capture are handled under explicit consent (GDPR Art. 9). Hand-pose is treated as biometric only where used to uniquely identify — we don't over- or under-claim.

Cross-border transfer

Most buyers are US-based. We handle EU→US transfer with Standard Contractual Clauses and a transfer impact assessment, plus a data-sharing agreement — part of the deliverable, not an afterthought.

DPIA

Systematic capture of identifiable data warrants a Data Protection Impact Assessment; we run one and share the outcome.

Withdrawal vs. trained models

Consent is informed that withdrawal doesn't unwind lawful processing already completed; delivered data carries an irrevocable license so a later withdrawal can't claw back a model you've trained.

Data handling & security

Identifiable footage is access-controlled and encrypted in transit and at rest; PII is segregated from delivered trajectories; retention and deletion are documented with a chain-of-custody per episode.

Note: the EU AI Act primarily regulates AI systems and general-purpose models, not the sale of training datasets — GDPR is the binding regime for what we do. We flag downstream AI-Act context for your use, but don't overstate it.
